Disclaimer

What Tidy Math is for, and what it is not for. Please read this before you act on a result or a guide.

General information only

The calculators, guides and examples on Tidy Math are for education and planning. They explain how a calculation works and give an estimate. They are not financial, investment, tax, legal or medical advice, and they are not a substitute for a professional who knows your whole situation.

Money and tax

Tax rules, brackets, limits and loan terms change, and they differ by state, lender and person. A result from a calculator is an estimate based on the numbers you type. Before you file a return, take out a loan, change your withholding or make a large payment, check the figures with the IRS, your lender or a licensed tax preparer or financial adviser.

Health

Health tools such as the BMI, calorie and water-intake calculators use general formulas for adults. They do not diagnose anything and they do not know your medical history. Talk to a doctor or a registered dietitian before you change your diet, exercise or sleep habits because of a result.

Accuracy and updates

We check formulas against official sources and show the review date on each page, but mistakes can happen and rules can change after a page was reviewed. If you find an error, tell us and it will be checked and fixed. You can read how we work in the editorial policy.

Your numbers

The maths runs in your browser. The values you enter in a calculator are not sent to our server. See the Privacy Policy for what the site does collect.

Links and advertising

Some pages link to other websites, and the site shows advertising. We do not control other websites, and an advertiser cannot change a calculation or a recommendation here.

Limit of liability

You use the site at your own risk. To the extent the law allows, Tidy Math and its owner are not responsible for decisions made or losses suffered because of the information on this site. The full wording is in the Terms of Service.
